The Head Coach Rating (HCR) measures a program’s performance under the leadership of their head coach. The HCR Score is the percentage above the results that the average coach would be expected to deliver at that program.
The HCR is also used to measure the Philosophy, Scheme, and Development being implemented, their Recruiting ability, the coaches ability to overachieve based on their talent level, the G5 coaches most likely to land a major P5 job, and the level of success a program is likely to have when that coach leaves.
Each school has a Program Composite Ranking in order to determine its expectations. Every year, the Program Composite Ranking that the coach inherited when he was hired is measured against the program’s tier ranking for that season.
Each school also has a Weighted Recruiting Composite Ranking in order to determine the talent level of the program. The WRC ranking that the coach inherited is what that coach will be measured against during his tenure.
