I have completed researching the ACC’s and SEC’s best players from 1978-2018. Currently, I am researching the Big 10 which will be followed by the Pac 12, Big 12, Group of 5, and Independents. Included is every player that has either made 2 All Conference Teams, an All American Team, or an NFL roster. They are then ranked according to the scoring system at the bottom of the page and sorted by overall score, school, and position.

Players are ranked according to the following points system:
- All Conference 3rd Team = 1.25 points
- All Conference 2nd Team = 2.25 points
- All Conference 1st Team = 4.25 points
- Conference Award (POY, OPOY, DPOY, Jacobs) = 5 points
- Most Recent Conference Anniversary Team = 10 points
- All American 3rd Team = 4.50 points
- All American 2nd Team = 5.50 points
- All American 1st Team = 6.50 points
- National Position Award = 7.00 points
- Heisman Trophy Winner = 8.00 points
- College Football Hall of Fame = 16.00
- NFL 1st Round Pick = 3 points
- NFL 2nd-3rd Round Pick = 2 points
- NFL 4th-7th Round Pick = 1 point
- Make an NFL Roster = 2 points
- NFL Roster for 5 Years = 3 points
- NFL Roster for 10 Years = 4 points
- Selected to the Pro Bowl = 1 point
- All Pro 2nd Team = 1 point
- All Pro 1st Team = 2 points
- All Decade Team = 3 points
- NFL Hall of Fame = 4 points
